Did you know that…Ugadi is an Indian festival of summer, usually celebrated in March or April. It marks the beginning of a new year in southern states of India. It’s celebrated by cleaning houses, giving gifts like new clothes, drawing colorful patterns on the floor called kolamulus and decorating the entrance of your home with fresh mango leaves. Tasty foods are also a part of the celebration like Ugadi Pachadi, Pulihora, and Babbatlu.
